Join the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for our Speeding Wrecks Lives live event on Monday, July 10, 2023, at 11 a.m. ET as we kick off the agency’s campaign to reduce speeding on our nation’s roads.
Speeding endangers everyone on the road. Speeding-involved crashes continue to be one of the leading causes of death. In 2021, 12,330 people were killed in speeding-involved crashes, a contributing factor in 29% of all traffic fatalities.
Speakers will include:
- Ann Carlson, NHTSA Acting Administrator;
- Lorraine Martin, President and CEO, National Safety Council;
- Captain Cory Carlisle, Kansas City Missouri Police Department;
- Captain Christopher Vetter, New Hampshire State Police;
- Lieutenant Maurice Raines, Georgia State Patrol; and
- Dr. Will Smith, Paramedic & Emergency Medicine Physician.
NHTSA’s Speeding Catches Up With You national paid media campaign begins July 10 and runs through July 31.
