Student Safety Technology Design Competition (SSTDC) Announced
As part of the 22nd International Technical Conference on the Enhanced Safety of Vehicles (ESV) College students are invited to take part in the 4th Student Safety Technology Design Competition. The goal of this competition is to bring young professionals with innovative and imaginative ideas into the growing field of automotive safety.
NHTSA designed the competition to promote multi-disciplinary teamwork, enhance students' awareness of automotive safety, and embrace engineering, human factors, and biomechanics. Team of students and a faculty advisor will develop models of innovative vehicle safety technologies in one of several categories.
Abstracts of the team’s ideas must be submitted by October 29th, 2010. Teams whose abstracts are accepted can receive $2,000 to support the development of their model (pending availability of funding by the sponsor country).
Top teams will gain international recognition by presenting their work at the ESV, at the National Harbor in June 2011. Information on this competition can be found here.
