The Dummy Management team provides our customer (NHTSA) the resources necessary for meeting existing and near-term projected needs for crash test dummies and instrumentation in a timely and cost effective manor. The functions performed include:
  • procurement of dummies, dummy parts, and dummy transducers
  • inspection and quality control
  • storage
  • inventory control
  • repair and refurbishment
  • calibration
  • shipping and receiving
  • special tasks to evaluate proposed updates or modifications to dummies, instrumentation and procedures.
This team is in the unique position to coalesce NHTSA’s user observations to affect dummy design and share its technical expertise with the NTHSA and Society of Automotive Engineers dummy user community.
