Electric Vehicle Safety Symposium

Privacy Act Statement (5 U.S.C. § 552a, as amended): AUTHORITY: The National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act of 1966 authorizes the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to carry out needed safety research and development. In furtherance of NHTSA research, the Agency is conducting an electric vehicle safety technical symposium at U.S. DOT Headquarters. In order to obtain permission for symposium attendees to enter U.S. DOT Headquarters, NHTSA must conduct a registration process during which it will collect certain personal information from registrants to provide to the Department’s Office of Security. NHTSA also intends to use registration information for purposes of communicating logistical and possibly follow-up information to symposium attendees.

ROUTINE USE(S): In accordance with DOT’s system of records notices, DOT/ALL 9 - SYSTEM NAME: Identification Media Record Systems, and DOT/NHTSA 411 SYSTEM NAME: General Public Correspondence System, the information provided will be disclosed only to the Department’s Security Office for purpose of obtaining clearance for registrants to access U.S. DOT Headquarters to attend the symposium. DISCLOSURE: Provision of the requested information is voluntary; however failure to furnish the requested information may result in an inability of the Department to provide individuals wishing to attend the symposium with physical access to the symposium location.
