| Evaluation of Labels |
There is not a picture of a child properly restrained in the CRS on the labeling. Labels do not explain the use of LATCH. The caregiver must read text to properly use the tether. On the labels, the illustrations depicting each method of installation are not labeled. There is a label depicting where the harness straps should be placed, but the harness slots themselves are not each labeled for forward-facing or rear-facing use. |
| Evaluation of Instructions |
The instruction manual storage is difficult to find and/or use while the child restraint is installed. The warning that the safest place for children is the rear seat is located among other unrelated warnings in a bulleted list. The warning that indicates that the rear seat is the safest place for children is not illustrated in the owner's manual. The section describing vehicle seat belt types is incomplete and may be missing important information. In the manual, the illustration of a properly restrained child is not directly next to height and weight information. In the manual, the tether is not illustrated for all of the possible methods of installation. |
| Securing the Child |
The harness clip is not labeled with placement instructions. The harness must be rethread to adjust height for the child's growth. Multiple actions are required to convert the seat to this mode of use; the caregiver must read the instructions. The harness must be taken out and rethreaded to disassemble the seat for cleaning. |
| Installation Features |
The restraint's belt-positioning features may be confusing or tedious to use. The child restraint is equipped with push-button LATCH connectors. The LATCH attachment and/or tether storage area is not clearly labeled. |
