To drive safely, you must be able to see everything within the danger zones around your bus. You can see everything if your mirrors are adjusted correctly.
Working with the station monitor, use the diagram on the next page to place 16 traffic cones around the bus. These traffic cones will outline the danger zones.
The diagram indicates how far each cone should be from the bus. When placing the cones, measure from the side of the tire to the center of the cone.
Once you have placed the cones, sit in the driver's seat of the bus. If your open door blocks your vision, close the door. Have the station monitor adjust your mirrors so that you can see all the cones, either with the mirrors or with the naked eye. You must be able to see Cones N and M and 200 feet back in the outside flat mirrors.
