Improving Outcomes, Together: Celebrating Our EMS Heroes

May 17-23

Every year, emergency medical technicians and paramedics respond to more than 200 million calls. Whether it’s a car crash on a busy highway or a medical emergency at home, these professionals bring specialized skills, deep knowledge, and a calm, steady hand to every scene.

This National EMS Week, we are honoring the men and women who care for our communities with tireless compassion and efficiency.

Innovation on the Move
This year’s theme, “Improving Outcomes, Together,” highlights how EMS professionals are doing more than just "rushing to the hospital." They are transforming the back of the ambulance into a high-tech care center.

By using cutting-edge tools once only found in emergency rooms—like portable ultrasound and whole blood transfusions—EMS teams are saving lives at the scene. These advancements mean that life-saving interventions start the moment help arrives, significantly increasing the chances of survival for those with critical injuries.

Join Us in Saying Thank You
Our EMS professionals give so much to ensure we stay safe on the road and in our homes. Throughout National EMS Week, we encourage you to show your support:

  • Say Thanks: If you see an EMT or paramedic, take a moment to express your gratitude.
  • Share the Love: Use social media to shout out the EMS agencies in your community.
  • Get Involved: Learn more about the future of emergency care and how you can support local initiatives.
