Dear Mr. Protzeller: This is in reply to your letter of November 30, 1972, to the Federa Register concerning an interpretation of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 108.; You have asked whether a side marker lamp may be combined opticall with a taillamp as long as requirements of Standard No. 108 applicable to each lamp are met.
