Dear Mr. Milby: In our letter to you of December 7, 1972, regarding Standard 217, Bu Window Retention and Release, we incorrectly stated in the answer to question 5 that an amendment currently being prepared would clarify Figures 1 and 2 to indicate the location of the bus wall in relation to the seat. We do not feel such a clarification is necessary for the purposes of the standard. The intent of those figures is to establish a space envelope containing certain reach distances with respect to the seat, and the location of the wall is therefore not relevant.; Sincerely, Richard B.
