Executive Summary

NHTSA hosted a public meeting on October 20, 2017 specifically addressing the Voluntary Safety Self-Assessment (VSSA), a facet of the Voluntary Guidance for Automated Driving Systems 2.0: A Vision for Safety. The focus of the meeting was to hear from entities regarding challenges to public disclosure of a VSSA. The meeting also brought about questions regarding public display of the VSSA and NHTSA’s role. A NHTSA panel interacted with each commenter to gain a greater understanding of each commenter’s position.
