Join the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for a live event on April 3 at 11 a.m. ET/8 a.m. PT at the Lifesavers National Conference.
The event, which will be live-streamed, will focus on coordinated federal and state enforcement efforts to equitably combat all forms of distracted driving. This press conference will highlight distraction-related fatalities from the 2021 Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS) Annual Report, and related distraction findings from The Economic and Societal Impact of Motor Vehicle Crashes, 2019.
NHTSA Deputy Administrator Sophie Shulman will be joined by:
- Steve Kiefer, distracted driving impact speaker, The Kiefer Foundation;
- Torine Creppy, President & CEO, Safe Kids Worldwide; and
- Ron Mead, Captain, Washington State Patrol.
NHTSA’s U Drive. U Text. U Pay. paid media campaign will begin on April 3 and run through April 10, 2023. The national enforcement mobilization period will begin on April 6.
