Chelsea Jarrett
Director of the Office of Governmental Affairs, Policy and Strategic Planning
Chelsea Jarrett, NHTSA’s Director of Governmental Affairs, Policy and Strategic Planning, leads the agency’s governmental and stakeholder outreach and initiatives. Her office works closely with the Office of the Secretary of Transportation and other modal leadership to ensure strategic alignment, coordination and focus on transportation safety priorities.
Prior to joining NHTSA, Jarrett served as a congressional deputy chief of staff for a senior house member and as senior advisor for his work on the Appropriations Committee. She managed multiple legislative priorities, including those relevant to the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development. Jarrett helped deliver funding for transformational infrastructure, including critical surface transportation, aviation and water resource programs.
She earned her bachelor’s in marketing from the University of Kentucky and master’s degree in business administration from the New York University’s Stern School of Business.
